Actor and Political party leader Vijayakanth who is fondly called by people as “Captain” won the hearts of million people by providing place to bury the mortal remains of people dying from the COVID 19 at the premises of his Aandal Azhagar college situated in the outskirts of Chennai. His announcement surfaced soon after the news on a Doctor who went to crematorium to bury his colleague, brutally attacked by a mob of 21 members. They attacked the doctor and his accomplices in the fear of getting infected by the Coronavirus which is spreading faster day by day.
This news shocked the internet users and an emotional video of one of the deceased’s colleague is doing rounds in social media platforms. Along with Captain Vijayakanth, many cinema celebrities and political personalities expressing their emotions regarding the same. Kamal Haasan, popular actor and leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam, posted a tweet saying that Doctors are our soldiers in this war with Coronavirus. “They deserves our salute” he said in his tweet.

Dr.Simon Hercules died on Sunday after he contracted COVID 19 from his parents, according to reports. When he was being taken to a cemetery, a mob attacked the ambulance, alleging that the body of the deceased would spread the virus. Reports said that an ambulance driver and few more corporation health officials were injured as the mob threw bricks, stones, bottles and sticks to get rid of them. They stopped them to bury the body of Dr.Simon at two cemeteries.
The Chennai Police have arrested 21 people and registered case against them for instigating violence. This incident created huge outrage among social media where people are slamming those people involved in violence. The Indian Medical association warned of “appropriate retaliatory measures” if the authorities fail to stop such incidents.
