Cheran is an Indian film director known for his works in Tamil cinema. He is a four time National Film Award winner for Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Autograph (2004) and Thavamai Thavamirunthu (2005). He won four tamil Nadu State Film Awards and five South Filmfare awards.

After the gap of about 4 years, Cheran released his film Thirumanam on March 1. However, the film didn’t do well at the box office and the response was underwhelming.

It is said that the film received good reviews but as it was exam period for the students, the film failed to click at the box office. The film is re-released on April 12 and fans made it a box office bomb.

Now after watching the movie in piracy platforms such as Tamilrockers, Many people in social media platforms regretted for missing the movie in theatre and expressed their guilt to the director himself by tagging him.

On seeing enormous number posts, Cheran, posted details of a bank account and told people not to feel guilty. He asked them to send the ticket money to the bank account which will reach the producer directly.

He also added that he did it for “Autograph” movie as well. The director reported that he received money from more than 1 lakh people who sent 100 rupees each at that period of time itself.

To our surprise, many people posted the screenshots of their money transaction to the said account. On the other side some made fun of the movie and asked Cheran to pay them back the ticket money as the movie was not up to the mark.
