Ever since the title teaser of Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Vikram” released, various kind of reactions from the audience are pouring from all the directions of the Internet. Lokesh Kanagaraj who identifies himself as an ardent fan of Kamal Haasan, is being highly lauded by his colleagues and by the fans of Tamil cinema for the work he made. While many found the teaser intriguing and impressive, some accused the makers of plagiarising the concept from West.

Now, to our surprise, apart from the few online users who would find ways to draw attention from their followers by making such allegations against high profile films, a filmmaker who made two films in Tamil so far, said that the energy spent appreciating the “Vikram” teaser went in vain, indirectly denoting that it was copied.

On seeing this trailer, Director Mohan who is known for making “Draupathy” and “Pazhaya Vannarapettai”, attached the youtube link of Narcos : Mexico season 2 teaser and said “Our enthusiastic emotion went wrong” by writing “சில்லரைய சிதற விட்டது தப்பாகிடுச்சே” in Tamil.

As we all could see, nothing other than humans sitting and breaking bread in a closed atmosphere is similar in these two teasers. In fact, the lead character in the Narcos teaser doesn’t carry a weapon whereas Vikram who is dubbed as “Ghost” has control over more than one weapon. Just because the two situations were set in a dining table, one couldn’t brand a work of art as “copy”. Many twitter users who saw the tweet of Mohan felt the same and started expressing their disagreement over his opinion.

The shooting of “Vikram” is expected to commence from this month. Sathyan Sooryan is going to crank the camera for the movie whereas Philomin Raj handles the edit. Anirudh Ravichander is going to compose music for the film and Kamal Haasan bankrolls the film under his own banner Raaj kamal internationals. As soon as the title teaser released, it went insanely viral across the internet with millions of positive reactions. As of now, the teaser was liked by 5 lakh people with a views of 2 million plus.
