Follower’s Inappropriate Comment On Actress’s Ilayaraja B’day Post Irked Her !!

Doctor cum actress Sharmila is pretty much active in Twitter nowadays and is interacting with her followers every now and then. On this special day of music maestro Ilayaraja’s birthday, she uploaded a post wishing him by expressing her love towards him. “Headphones plugged…mild volume…raja songs…and life always feels enriched, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR, #rajaforever #ilayaraja Sharmila said in her post by adding heart emojis.

Among the many comments that surfaced wishing Ilayaraja, a happy birthday, one of a Twitter user dropped a comment question whether it is true that her husband torn up his “Vanniyar” caste certificate. “madam unga husband vanniyar caste certificate aha kizichi pottutarame ..Unmaiya madam….” his reply read.

This comment grabbed the attention of the actress and she decided to expose him to her other followers. Capturing the screen shot of his comment, Sharmila said “See what I have posted and what kind of comment he made. Height of stupidity. Even thousand more Ambedkars and Periyars couldn’t reform people like you” in frustration.

“என்ன சொல்கிரோம் அதுக்கு என்ன கமென்ட் போடுறான் பாருங்க…அறிவீனத்தின் உச்சம்….ஆயிரம் அம்பேத்கரும் பெரியாரும் வந்தாலும் உன்னையெல்லாம் திருத்த முடியாது” her reply to his comment read.

Along with many other cinema celebrities, politicians and influential personalities from various other fields, Dr. Sharmila who is known among public for her appearance in Tamil Television and cinema, has been raising voice against the sexual harassment that took place against the female students in Padma Sheshadri bala Bhavan school. Now, a tweet she uploaded answering to the most asked question to her, has garnered the attention of the internet audience with positive reactions.

On seeing her online activities, many of them seemingly asked her why she is opposing the school owned by Brahmins while she herself being one. Replying to them, Doctor posted a tweet saying “Do Brahmins have horns ? No one is superior by birth. The humanity one displays and his/ her good attributes increases their value. I want my humanity and social justice as my identity and not my caste” Sharmila said in her tweet and went on to add “I don’t take pride in being identified by my caste…I rather prefer to be known for my work and contribution to society” in her tweet.

Dr. Sharmila who pursued MBBS degree, started her television career through a quiz show in Jaya TV. Followed by it, she hosted a celebrity talk show and did shows along with reputed psychiatrist Dr. N. Mathrubootham.
