Karan Johar is on the receiving end of much hate online today, thanks to a tweet that he supposedly liked on the micro-blogging platform. The filmmaker, in what was possibly an accident, liked a tweet that abused Shah Rukh Khan and compared him to Akshay Kumar’s stardom.

Karan Johar’s latest productional film Kesari has just hit the cinemas and took a biggest start of 2019. Like every producer on the weekend, KJo was busy scrolling the microblogging site to check public reactions for his latest released film. But he didn’t know that his little mistake here will cost him big time.

The tweet by a user called Mannu Yadav read, “Half day colls [collections] of Kesari on Holi day (which is worse than pre diwali day) [is] greater than Zero full festival day collection.”

The tweet also had some abusive words against Shah Rukh Khan as you can see it below :

The tweet went on to use expletives for Shah Rukh Khan, and said how SRK’s stardom was nothing compared to Akshay Kumar’s.

No sooner than Shah Rukh Khan fans spotted the ‘like’ by Karan Johar, than they went on a tweeting spree against the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai filmmaker. At the time of filing this, #ShameOnKaranJohar was at the fifth position in India trends, with more than 22,000 tweets using the hashtag.

As soon as the fans of SRK came to know about it, they started a trend against him which was #ShameOnKaranJohar. People just couldn’t digest that Karan Johar liked a tweet against Shah Rukh Khan and started bashing him. Have a look at some of the reactions-

Karan Johar’s explanation of the matter evaluated it to be a “technical problem”. “Guys having a technical problem with my twitter account! Strange things are going on! From uploading shoe picture and gibberish to liking tweets I haven’t even read and would never even acknowledge! Please bear with me and I apologise for any inconvenience! Even SRK came in Karan’s support and hilariously said that he has fat fingers.
