“Maanaadu” Postponed Due To Story Theft Issue ?? Director Replied

“Maanadu” producer Suresh Kamatchi, on 18th of October, came up with a press note announcing that the Simbu-starrer is backing off from the Diwali race due to the betterment of distributors and investors. The film producer said that the film will release on 25th of November and the move received mixed reactions from fans. Now, a report emerged saying that “Maanadu” got postponed due to story theft issue. It accused director Venkat Prabhu of copying the story of 2017 South Korean Mystery thriller “A Day” and said that the film got postponed to sort out the issues. To our surprise, Venkat Prabhu himself came up with a reply to brush off the baseless speculation.

Trailer of “Maanadu” released recently and gained a huge reception from the fans of Kollywood and actor Simbu. The 130 seconds long trailer promised a gripping time travel film with Simbu and SJ Suriya clashing with each other. The lead actor looks stylish with his new avatar with Kalyani Priyadarshini playing female lead. With SJ Suryah donning a cop role, SA Chandrasekhar appears in the film as the Chief minister of the state.

The trailer confirmed Maanadu’s Diwali arrival. However, days later, producer Suresh Kamatchi made an announcement saying that the film is going to get released on 25th of November. The film producer said that he is pretty much confident about the film but expressed his concern over the distributors who invested money on the film. He promised that the film will release on 25th of November.

Now, a report of Dinamalar emerged saying that the production company of “A day” film filed a complaint against “Maanadu” makers after seeing the trailer of the film. The news report said that the makers of “Maanadu” had copied “A day” story and the producers of the South Korean film are expecting a huge amount as compensation. “Discussions are underway. As it would take more time, makers of “Maanadu” postponed the release date” the news report of Dinamalar said.

While fans are raising their eye brows and comparing both the films, Director Venkat Prabhu himself came up with a tweet and brushed off the speculations. He added a series of laughing emojis and confirmed that the news of Dinamalar portal is baseless.
