Mohan G Advised Selvaraghavan After Seeing His Tweet On “AO” Budget !!

The tweet uploaded by Selvaraghavan on the budget of his “Aayirathil Oruvan” blew up in no time with reactions pouring from all the directions of social media platforms. On seeing the tweet, Mohan G of “Draupathy” fame replied saying that few crores are enough to make a successful film. He who made his film “Draupathy” with a budget of just more than Rs. 1 crore, said that the production process of films should change in Tamil cinema.

On Thursday, Director Selvaraghavan came up with a tweet revealing about a fact on how he lied about the budget of his “Aayirathil Oruvan” film and why he is regretting about it now. The tweet is going viral with various kind of reactions from the fans of the filmmaker and the fans who has been demanding the sequel of the historical drama for a very long time. Selva said that people is considering the film as an average one, despite it collected the money invested.

Aayirathil Oruvan featured Karthi, Reema sen, Andrea, Parthiban in the lead roles. Music was composed by G.V Prakash and Dhanush sung a song for the film. The film revolves around three characters, Muthu (Karthi), Lavanya (Jeremiah) and Anitha (Reema Sen) who embark on an adventure to search for a missing archaeologist. It is inspired loosely by the historical decline of the Tamil Chola dynasty and the rise of the Tamil Pandya dynasty.

The film is believed to be a box office dud until the tweet uploaded by the director of it on Thursday morning. Selva said that the actual budget of “Aayirathil Oruvan” was Rs.18 crores. He said that they (Producers and other important crew members of the film) decided to announce it as a 32 crore rupees budget film to hype it as a mega budget film.

The filmmaker, in his tweet said that it was a stupid decision as the film managed to collect the budget but is still considered as an average one. He concluded the tweet saying that he learnt not to lie despite of the odds through the experience. “The actual budget of #aayirathiloruvan was 18 crores. But we decided to announce it as a 32 crore film to hype it as a mega budget film. What stupidity! Even though the film managed to collect the actual budget it was regarded as average! Learnt not to lie whatever the odds are!” tweet of Selva read.

Director Mohan G, replying to Selva’s tweet, said “They made everyone believe that high budget films and films that collect Rs.100 crore, Rs. 200 crore and Rs. 500 crore are quality film. They think that people who make films for lakhs won’t get respect. The process of production should change. Few lakhs are enough to get success” Mohan G said in his tweet.
