Thiagarajan Kumararaja has made only one film titled Aaranya Kaandam till Super deluxe’s release, which was released in 2010, and it was a box office failure. Yet, it won a National Award for Best Direction. The director then went AWOL, and had remained so for the past nine years. But his second film Super Deluxe is currently the talk of the town, which released last week.

Audience and critics are raving about Super Deluxe, the second film of director Thiagarajan Kumararaja, which stars Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha and Fahadh Faasil.

Aaranya Kaandam is now streaming on a popular OTT (Over The Top) service, but earlier there used to be a joke among ardent fans – that even Thiagarajan doesn’t have a good print of the film! How did this underdog become the talk of the town now? It was predominantly through word-of-mouth reviews of his debut film. In an industry where directors vanish in just years of churning out numerous hits, Thiagarajan stayed with the fans; fans who were left wondering for a long time what this filmmaker was up to.

Considered as one of the aesthetic movies that has been ever released in Tamil Cinema, Super Deluxe recognised as a “Cult Classic” within two days of it’s release. Though there are many reviews are there for Thiagaraja Kumararaja forever, we are sure that won’t enjoy this feedback from the popular actor/cinematographer.

Natarajan Subramaniam who is fondly called as “Natti” among fans rose fame through his stellar performance in the movie “Sathuranga Vettai”. The actor after watching the movie Super Deluxe seems to be disappointed for it’s theme. As a result of it he ended up posting 3 back to back tweets condemning the movie severely.

In his first tweet the actor said that the one who betrays his wife will not be truthful to his friend.

He also warned his followers not to fall prey to those characters. In his second tweet Natti said that he wish to stay away from those people who are praising the dirt.

The movie has actor Vijay Sethupathi in the role of a transgender, Ramyakrishnan as retired porn actress and Samantha as flawed woman who had her ex-boyfriend killed while having sex. Being a hyperlink drama, the movie narrated in a non-linear way of story telling.
