While Karan Johar’s celebrity talk show, Koffee With Karan, often grabs attention for all the revelations celebs make on it, the episode with Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul went a little too far. Hardik’s sexist statements about women created a storm, which resulted in him and KL Rahul being banned by the BCCI for the ODI series against Australia. Now, Hardik’s rumoured ex-girlfriend Esha Gupta has spoken out on the controversy and even denied being his ‘friend’ ever.

At an event in Mumbai recently, when Esha was asked about her opinion on the remarks made by Hardik on the show, the actress said, “Who is the one who told you, he is my friend?”

The actress, to explain her stance further, added that in her opinion, no one should ever say anything so harsh about women. “Firstly, women should not compare themselves with men. We are the best in every respect. I don’t want anyone to feel bad, but why don’t you give birth to a child? We suffer from periods five days every month and even then we have to dance, go to an office, and take care of the children. When you can do all this, you become superior,” she told reporters at the event.

Hardik Pandya has also been linked to Elli Avram and Urvashi Rautela, but the actresses have maintained silence on his remarks so far.

At the chat show, the allrounder had made several comments that left the fans shocked. Speaking to the host Karan Johar, the 26-year-old shared details such as “When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, “Main karke aya hai aaj (I had sex today)” and “At a party my parents asked me acha tera wala (women) kaun sa hai[who is your interest here?] so I said yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women) and they were like waah proud of u beta.”

After the controversy started gathering steam, Hardik has even posted an apology on his social media accounts. But that didn’t much to salvage the situation he is in.
